My knees felt like death for some reason. I tapped out on the front squats. Skipping a movement is something that I hate to do. It makes me feel as if I did the workout wrong. I am learning that I can skip things like this to preserve how I feel and that it is not always worth pushing through something, especially pain.

- PP + BTNJ + Press 3 x (1+2+3) barbell only
- Jerk to HS, then 85% 5×1 EMOM: 2@75, 2@90, 2@105, 2@115, 1@120, 1@130, 136x; 5×1@115
- HPC: 1×3@95, 1×3@100, 1×3@105
- SnPP: 5×2, increasing: 75, 95, 105, 120, 125×1
The jerks from the blocks have felt like trash lately. Complete and total garbage. I am dipping forward. I am leaving the bar out front. I am not dropping low enough in the catch. So much is wrong that when I go back to look at the videos, it bothers me and frustrates me even further. That 125 mark on the snpp seems to be my breaking point. I am so close to hitting that but usually fatigued by the time I get to this point.

Our dog had a pretty rough day on Tuesday. She went to get spayed and while she was under, we had her microchipped as well. They also found some back baby teeth that they said should have come out by now, but were not growing correctly. Rather than put her under again in 2 months, they went ahead and pulled them. When we picked her up, she was zoned out of her mind on medication. Her recovery meant none of us got a ton of sleep. They wanted her to wear a cone to prevent her from licking and biting at the incision area, but she could not fit in her crate while wearing the cone. Thankfully my wife offered to sleep downstairs with her. The lack of sleep caught up to me quicker than I expected or realized. All of the weights on Wednesday felt heavy and impossible. I was tired. I was grumpy. I ached all over on Thursday. All of this on top of a super busy week for the kids proved to be too much and I slept through all of my alarms. I also spent some time during the day resting to try and catch up.

- Superset –
- Incline bench: 5×8@195#
- Banded lat pull-downs: 5×20 (green band)
- 8 rounds:
- 1:00 AB
- 1:00 heavy sandbag hold
- 12 push-ups
I slept in until around 7:30, which felt amazing. Got up, and weighed, to find I had dropped just a small amount on the scale. I was shocked as I fully expected to see a gain given how poorly this week has gone. That and the extra sleep helped fire me up enough to get into the gym and move around a little. Great shake out day.

I slept in until 8:00am which was amazing! I felt almost like new. Well, as new as some as old and broken as me can feel, that is. Also, my friend Richard came in early and lifted with me. He normally comes in early but does his own thing, so having him do the same lifts was really motivating. Normally I am working out alone in the corner. This was a treat for me. Both of these complexes were tough, but I enjoyed doing them and working up to something heavy. I am fairly certain this was a PR on both the complexes as well as PR hang snatch.
