Since changing up the nutrition, I have noticed a big change in my BP. Most notably, I took a reading last week that was in the “normal range”. I am guessing it has been 20 years since I have seen that.
The overall week is tracking a little high, but this is a big improvement over where I was.
I have taken a few readings in the normal range and it has been such a shock that I felt like something was wrong with the BP device. I looked back at how I was eating while following Weight Watchers and clearly something good was happening. I dropped a lot of weight. But looking at how I have removed so many processed foods, I can’t help but feel that my issue with my BP had to do more with my nutrition than anything else.
I have an appointment with a cardiologist at the end of next month and then will follow up with my PCP. I am hopeful that the nutrition is the missing piece I had been overlooking. Eating healthy is great, but low-sodium foods are going to be in my future for a long time unless of course, I want to try and control everything with medicine (which I don’t.).
