With the weather so nice and me feeling a little amped up from being on the Peloton, I thought it would be fun to actually go outside for once.
I don’t even remember the last time I went for a ride on the bike that was anywhere outside of the subdivision. I really have no desire to be on the road and risk getting hit by a car. The Louisville Loop offers a ton of paved miles so I felt like I could ride as long as I wanted and not have to worry about being mauled by a truck. With the girls and Gina playing at the park, my only goal was to ride 30 minutes out and then come back. Not trying to hit a PR or be a speed demon. Just wanted to ride outside.
I feel that if there were less people, I could have gone a little faster. At times, I had to dodge a lot of folks on the trail so I couldn’t go very fast. Totally OK with that.
It was just such a beautiful day outside and felt good to not be down in the basement cranking out miles for once. This also made me want a newer bike, but I am not really sure what I would even want or how often I would use it. I feel like I am most interested in riding the trails because that seems more fun, but I also do enjoy getting on the pavement and riding longer. Both of those choices seem to require slightly different equipment.
