After some debate, I made the decision to give the Juggernaut Powerbuilding A.I. programming a shot.
With the amount of weight, I have lost and trying to settle into a good “walking around weight” I just don’t feel mentally or physically ready to test new 1RMs on any of the lifts. I have done my best to estimate what my maxes are for the purposes of training and feel good about where those are. Right now, I have zero desire to compete on the platform again. Until all of the current issues with my blood pressure get resolved, I am really hesitant to commit to a heavy lifting program. I also do not want to spend the money for 1:1 coaching.
I love the Pen and Paper Strength programs and don’t mind spending $15 for a 4-week block, however, I would love to see some continuity from one block to the next. I even thought about writing programming for myself. I feel as if I know what I could and should be doing, but there is a different level of accountability if you are getting your program from someone else.
The best solution right now feels like the powerbuilder program from Juggernaut. I was able to select the best mix that I wanted as well as what areas I wanted to tackle. To kick this off, I am focusing on shoulders and hamstrings. I got the first spreadsheet last week and rolled through the introduction videos that explain how to use it. It was more complicated than I was expecting. I have been so used to writing everything down in a notebook but this is setup to get feedback and to be submitted back to Juggernaut. That will in turn help drive the next block. I won’t have 1:1 coaching, video feedback, etc., but given where I am with my training right now, I am cool with that.
