Jerks lately have been off. I have always felt confident at hitting 90%+ pretty much on any good day. Even on bad days, 80%+ was just a “gimme”. Lately, however, that has not been the case. My left arm always gives when I fail a jerk. It is something I have been aware of for a while and something that I work continually on. Also, my left knee has had issues for years now (arthritis and the cartilage is worn out). The past month or so, my left knee always seems to hurt when working split jerks off the blocks. I have been shooting video of these from different angles to see what is going on and lately, I have noticed this:
It appears that the dip is fine, but on the drive, I always lean a bit toward the side with the bad knee. I have no clue how long I have been doing this because I never video from this angle so its really the first time I am seeing that I do it. It has been been pointed out to me either.
Looks like on days where the jerk shows up, I am going to be doing a few additional drills to help get this straight.
