Nutrition & Progress

I have been weighing in every week and also started to take measurements every 2 weeks to check progress.

Progress

  • Weight: -2.5lb
  • Chest: +1.25″
  • Arms: -0.25″
  • Waist: -0.50″
  • Legs: +0.25″

I was really, really excited about the drop in the weight.  For what I am doing, 1lb loss per week is good, but the past 2 weeks I have seen no change.  It does get a bit frustrating to see no drop on the scale, especially after putting in so much work with meal planning and prepping.  My wife has helped me prepare and measure some of the meals to double check me.  I felt this last week I was far more accurate with everything.

Meal Tracking

Here is how the week worked out:

Looking at Saturday and Sunday compared to the rest, those two days look like a total failure.  Saturday I went out to eat after church with my youngest and we went to eat Mexican.  I normally allow myself a cheat meal and this is what the chips and cheese in the meal did for me.  On Sunday, my sweet tooth was going nuts and my daughters made homemade double doozies with Nestle Toll House chocolate cookies and vanilla icing. On one hand, it was painful logging those. On the other hand, it wasn’t as bad as I thought.  I have not really cut loose and had anything sweet like that in 4-5 weeks, so I enjoyed these, logged them, and moved on.

Feeling

Another gauge of progress is how I have been feeling.  I know that I need to take some photos and regret not doing that.  But my clothes feel like they fit better.  My shirts don’t hang on my stomach as much and cling more to my chest and arms.  So that is a great feeling.
