Today felt somewhat decent. Wasn’t moving the best. Worked up to just a few pounds under my snatch opener. While it didn’t feel light, it didn’t really feel heavy. I wasn’t satisfied with how I was moving. I don’t think I warmed up properly, despite the initial FS sets, which normally do the trick. On the CJ, they got heavy pretty quickly. I worked up to about 281 and failed the clean. I left it out in front but also felt some pain in my hips that I have not felt before. Gave it a minute or two and tried again, hitting the clean, but catching forward. I stood it up but by that point I was winded and missed the jerk. I was beating myself up over this then I remembered it is taper week which ALWAYS means that I feel like wet garbage.

Still feeling like a wet turd. So it is officially taper week! Back squats were super heavy. Back is tight. Hips are hurting. Just old and broken. Pushed through it.

- Muscle snatch: 3@75, 3@95, 3@106, 3@115, 3@115
- Snatch: Doubles up to 50-60% (7×2@126)
- CJ: Doubles up to 50-60% (7×2@157)
Normally I do power snatch and power clean + jerk doubles up to these percentages on Thursday then rest the day before the meet. Given that the meet is at 6:00pm on Saturday, My coach wanted me to rest on Thursday like normal, and then come in and move some really light weights on Friday. I would have plenty of time to rest since I workout so early and the meet is later in the day on Saturday. These light doubles felt really good. The snatches felt great, hips were moving well. The CJ’s were light and easy and I was doing them every :90 to keep moving.
